Badass horror films that aren't remakes

I know you lovely people are tired of remakes.  That's why I tell people to go with indy films.

But don't let me tell you that, in fact, here in H-town TX we've got a number of directors ready to unleash hell upon you folks.

Some of these movies are already out, some of them not just yet.

www.houstonhorror.com  My personal recommendations are Backroad, Sweatshop, Walking Distance, and Zombiefied (of course I'm going to plug the movie I'm in! lol)

Also, find us on Facebook.  Enter if you dare!

There's an indipendant film out there by Moviehouse Pictures called Darkest hour.  It's low budget but that's what makes it fun.  It has the best death scene in a horror film ever, some chick gets run over by a pickup.  It's hilarious.

Ditto to pretty much everything that's been said already--Alien and friends are really awesome. Also still haven't seen Trick r' Treat, but I've heard really good things.

Anyone see Splice? I thought that it was pretty good, and it's a nice sci-fi/horror mash-up.

1.Deadgirl (Not "The Dead Girl" that is a different movie)

2.La Horde

3.Taxidermia (One of the sickest besides Deadgirl)

4.Return Of The Living Dead (Fucking Classic)

5.Kichiku dai enkai (AKA Banquet Of The Beasts)

6.Gozu

7.Un chien andalou (1929) (Its an art film but I see it as an abstract horror flick)

8.The Poughkeepsie Tapes  (Best found footage ever)

9.Hour Of The Wolf

10.Rammbock (AKA Siege Of The Dead)
